Cheerleading: Bases for easy stunts

Hi guys!Today im going to tell you about cheerleading stunts. This week im going to tell you the people needed for stunts. Lets not waste time and get started!

Bases:
Bases are the people under the flyer
They hold the flyer and their responsible for keeping the flyer in the air also safe at all times. There are a few recognized styles of stunting: Coed, all-girl and hybrid. There are no gender requirements for being a base. Girls and boys can be bases

Flyer:
The one in the air
This is the person which is in the air in a stunt. Flyers are needed to control their weight by keeping their body straight and tight. When the flyer is in the air the bases have to hold their shoe and the back base has to hold their ankles. The flyer must keep a steady focus and must stay tight but if they dont they have a greater chance of falling to the ground. Flyers should be healthy. A strong core and a good sense of balance are the key things needed to be a flyer. Flyers may have extreme flexibility.

Cross country

Today was the day, yes the big day, my dad had just dropped me off and I was at school, but as I told you this was no ordinary day... Today was Cross country. The big race! When the bell rang we all rushed to our classes, I was really nervous. First off we did the roll then we went outside to go down to the Turf, but before we went down to the Turf we had to know what age group we were in. I was with the 11 year olds with one other boy, his name was Pune. When we got down to the Turf we were sat down with the rest of our pod. I had to wait for a long time to actually run because I was one of the last people to be called out. Eventually the 11 year olds where called out! I was so nervous. The time had finally come! I was with the other 11 year old warming up, but since there wasn't much 11 year olds we had to run with the 10 year olds. So as I was saying we were warming up and then we got to the starting line. First the 10 year olds ran, then it was our turn to go my heart was pounding like a wild drum and then... SNAP! The starter had gone! I was off! I was running at top speed desperate to get out of last place! But it was no good! I just kept going! By the time I finally got to the finish line I was so tired and exhausted, but at least I got to cross the finish line with pride and that was the important bit. After all that we got to go back to class and have lunch.

Tick-Tock-Tick-Tock...  Do you know how to tell the time, because I do, and it’s super helpful.  If you wear a watch it will help you to not be late, you’ll learn to tell the time better because you’re wearing it all day, you’ll be super styley and it makes you look smart.

1: Are you ever late to things? Because I’m not!  I always have a watch on my hand to give me a guideline to what the time is.  Imagine you being late to school, when you walk in the class all your teacher is wanting to do is growl at you.  If only you’d put your watch on in the morning! If you have a meeting and you are not wearing your watch, you could walk in late. When you walk in everyone is going to stare at you and you’re going to get that embarrassed feeling you get when you’re late to something.  You could solve these problems by wearing a watch everyday.

2: If you have a watch on you at all times, it will help you get better at telling the time, because you will have it on for most of the day.  So for an example. If you were at the mall and your mum told you to meet her outside the Warehouse at 11:45 am, you could check your clock anytime and anywhere. But if you didn’t know how to tell the time and didn’t even have a watch on you, you would have no idea what so ever what the time was, and what time is was for you to meet your mum, or whoever is picking you up.

3: Do you like to be styley? Because I know that I do. Imagine having all sorts of different watches, and wearing a different one out everyday. Wouldn’t that be awesome. Well you could have all sorts of different watches if you wore them and knew how to tell the time. I may have just one watch but I wear it alot. All though it may just be one watch this watch is black leather, so I think that its pretty styley. If you did start to buy more watches and wear them

more, people would think that you’re way more styley than what you used to be. Plus it makes you look really smart, because then if people aren’t wearing a watch themselves the can ask you.

So those are reasons why I think people should wear a watch all the time.

Sally The Sea Monster 2

"Mum,Dad I'm going to the restaurant now" spoke Sally,she was so happy that she built her own restaurant even though she was young. At her famous restaurant everyone said good morning boss, Sally was proud to be their boss but she didn't see Jennifer she and Sally were enemies but they ended up being besties and Sally told Jennifer that she was the manager in the restaurant and Jennifer was always there and on time but this time she didn't come. Then Sally realised there was a note on the counter Sally picked it up and started to read " Hey Sally um I should have told you earlier that I'm on vacation to Atlantis and while I'm there ill bring you gifts or souvenirs from Atlantis from Jennifer" Sally felt lonely without her bestie and she never went to Atlantis so she thought of an idea. When Sally closed up her restaurant she swam to her cave as fast as she could she opened her bag and picked up her keys and "CLICK" she searched for pocket money and there she found an one hundred dollar note she put the note in her bag, locked the cave and swam straight to her home. Sally thought if her plan would work and her plan was to tell her parents if she was allowed her to go to Atlantis, slowly she swam to her parents trying not to get noticed by her parents but they noticed her " Sally why are you here I thought you would be in your room doing homework " answered her Dad " no I don't have any homework today dad '' replied Sally "then why are you here did you need to talk with us or mum" questioned Sally's dad "I wanted to talk to both of you" replied Sally "ok then bring your mum here then we will talk" answered her dad so Sally brought in her mum and they settled in their cosy couch and Sally told them what she wanted '' mum, dad I want to go to Atlantis because you guys went there and I didn't and I even brought money see" Sally showed them her one hundred dollar note, her parents decided and told her '' ok then you can go to Atlantis but you need to take your older sister " "ok then ill take Lily" groaned Sally. When her sister came back from university Sally told her sister everything Lily did want to go to Atlantis so she packed her bags so fast that when she was coming down she nearly tripped, Sally tried to hide her laugh but it came out her sister made an angry face and was coming near her Sally swam to her room before Lily could snatch her so Sally packed her bags fast too but she didn't trip over. While Lily was talking to her friends about the trip Sally was buying the tickets Sally was so glad that plan worked and she was going to visit her bestie. When the girls finished what they were doing they said bye to their parents and off they went. At the Seaport Lily knew what to do she got her bags and Sally's and she told Sally to follow her they headed to the checkout and showed the airline employee their tickets while Lily showed them their tickets Sally was amazed because she had never been to a Seaport even when she was a baby sea monster. After putting their bags into the plane they went into the plane, it was a bit squishy for Sally but she managed to find her seat her seat number was C 14 and her sister's seat number was C 15, Sally wanted to put memories from Atlantis so she picked up her Sea Camera and she took a picture of her seat number which was weird all of the other sea monsters was staring at her even the little monsters were and then they started to whisper to each other " I think she has never been into a plane " a lady said, Sally just ignored them and they flew. By the time they got there it was already night it was pitch black she couldn't even see her sister suddenly Sally heard a familiar voice it sounded just like Lily "Lily it that you?" Sally asked " oh Sally it was you phew I thought I lost you then mum and dad would be angry at me but I found you at last " replied Lily so they got a taxi and went to the Mall and they ate something too then they went straight to the hotel they were going to stay. Lily picked up their room keys and "CLICK" Sally was very shocked to see their hotel room she never seen a beautiful room before it was better than her own room there was a water bed, a fancy bathroom and there was a amazing view on the terrace, Lily was used to hotel rooms but for Sally she was very impressed, Lily dropped her bags and sighed " what a day come on time to rest Sally " spoke Lily " ok then Lily but what about dinner " asked Sally '' um we could go out or we can order and eat here " decided Lily '' I'm too tired to walk around " moaned Sally "ok then we will order and eat here what do you want pizza or fish pasta?'' requested Lily "um I don't want to have fish pasta today otherwise ill feel sick I want pizza then" responded Sally, Lily picked up the phone and ordered some pizza. When the deliverer guy came, we straight away paid the person and eat as if we were cavemen. " Oh I'm full already " groaned Sally "same here" Lily groaned too then the both dozed off. "WAKE UP SALLY!" yelled Lily "what wrong Lily" "remember were going to met Jennifer" "oh okboasted Lily " oh thanks now lets go " Sally told Lily. While they were on the road Sally tried to find her cellphone in her then she finally found and she was trying to find the text message that Jennifer gave her she found it straight away it said " Hey Sally I'm staying at The Grand Hotel " " I found where she lives driver can you go to the Grand Hotel please and fast " asked Sally politely, then car went really fast as fast tiger. When they arrived at the Grand Hotel they asked an employee from the hotel '' hi I would like to know what room is the Duncan's staying " asked Sally " " which one the one from Sea City or from coral reef " replied the employee " Sea City one " responded Sally " number fourteen floor number six have a wonderful evening " replied the employee, so they both went to the water elevator Sally loved the water elevator  because you just press the button and there was a slide just go in and in five seconds your already there " here we go! " yelled Lily. When they arrived to the floor number Lily and Sally searched for the room number " twelve, thirteen here is room fourteen " shouted out Lily, Sally knocked the door and there was a lady that looked like Jennifer's mum " oh hello Sally are you staying in this hotel " asked Jennifer's mum "hello Mrs Coral I'm not staying in this hotel and I would like to talk to Jennifer " replied Sally " oh sure come on in " welcomed Mrs Coral, as soon as Sally stepped in Jennifer popped out of her room and saw Sally she swam to hug her in BANG! she hugged her so tightly that she was very squashed " hey Jennifer " mumbled Sally " Sally I didn't know you were coming here I was very surprised " Jennifer shrieked " why don't you and your sister stay in for dinner " asked Mrs Coral " sure " replied Sally and Lily " yay I can show you my souvenirs I got from the shops " shouted Jennifer, she grabbed Sally hand and swam to her room " look at these " spoke Jennifer, Sally looked at the souvenirs " they are beautiful Jennifer " spoke Sally " it is isn't it " repeated Jennifer " here you can have this " Jennifer requested, Jennifer gave a pretty charm with a bracelet Sally hugged Jennifer as tight as she could " thank you Jennifer " " that's ok Sally ". Sally and Lily had a wonderful dinner and then they had to say goodbye " bye Sally ill see you at school " announced Jennifer, they both waved and Sally never took off her bracelet because it was their friendship and it would never break apart.

Matariki- Acrostic poem

Matariki is the Maori name for the cluster of stars.    

All round the north of nz people are celebrating matariki.

Traditionally Matariki was a time to remember those who had died in the last year.

At Waitangi there planting native trees.

Ranginui was the sky father and papatuanuku was the earth mother.

I know that Matariki only rises at the early of June once a year.

Kites were in the air and people are playing accordions were playing celebrating Matariki

I also know that Matariki was also a HAPPY time it was a time for singing and dancing.

How to be a good flyer in cheerleading

Its another week of cheerleading skills and today im going to tell you about what it takes to be an awesome flyer in cheerleading. Lets get started!

*Make sure your body is tight and squeeze
The last thing you want to do is fall because your body is all over the place. A tight body gives you a good look and appearance

* Never ever look down!
It only makes you even more scared. If you also focus on something you will have better balance

*Make sure you hold your own weight
This makes it easier to hold your own weight

*Make sure you give a huge smile :)
Make sure you give a huge smile to your coach even though your unsure. If you dont you might lose your spot!

*Have good motions
Judges want you to have good motions not sloppy motions

*Avoid drawing attention when you fall
Just go along and you wont lose that much points

We had to create a upgrade for the gecko to protect it from predators.

The Gecko is a Small and Timid Creature. When it sees a Predator then it uses it's Protection. A Detachable Tail! If the Predator has grabbed the Tail then then the Gecko will release the Detachable Tail. If the Predator is not on the Tail then the Gecko will Release its Tail anyway so that the Predator will think that the Tail is the Gecko and Eat it up. Meanwhile the Gecko will Run away.

Sally the sea Monster

''Sally we are going to Atlantis now"spoke Sally's parents "Okay mum and dad'' replied Sally, Sally knew they were going to a wedding but they couldn't take Sally there because there was only two tickets to Atlantis but Sally loved Sea city but she had a problem how would she make dinner so thought going out to the famous fast food that was McSea. At McSea an employee asked "Hi there can I take your order?" " Um I would like six fish nuggets please '' answered Sally. While Sally was eating her six nuggets  then she remembered that she was the new girl at school and she saw lots of coral high students in McSea, just then the popular girls came barging through. Sally knew Jennifer the leader of the popular girls they went to kinder garden together, Sally tried not to look at them but Jennifer came straight to her " Hey Sally I thought you had friends by now but your all alone " announced Jennifer. '' Please leave me alone" shouted Sally and swam to her cave, Sally loved her cave since she was a little monster she put all of her memories Sally made a picture that looked like a restaurant she loved the picture she drew and she dreamt of building a restaurant just like the one she drew, suddenly she remembered a store that was for lease so she swam straight to her shelly phone and called the Sea Estate she was very happy that she bought the store with her own pocket money, while she was talking to her agent she heard a voice that sounded just like Jennifer she couldn't believe that she heard Jennifer's voice so she just hanged up. At the shop Sally decorated the whole restaurant and used all of her pocket money but the restaurant was quiet like a mouse then she had an idea her idea was put up posters so she went around Sea city and and put up posters. When she came back there was a huge crowd that wanted to eat and heaps of people wanted to work as well so she hired all the people who wanted to work, and everything went perfect. After a couple of days Sally's restaurant turn out to be the Top Five, while she was working she saw her parents and they told Sally " Sally you bought a restaurant and did you steal money from us?" " no mum and dad I bought the restaurant with my pocket money and yes I bought a restaurant without telling you sorry" replied Sally sadly. While the Mini's were talking Jennifer fainted, everyone was shocked, Sally called the Sea city hospital. Everyone waited for the doctor, when the doctor came out he told us " she has just fainted because she was weak she can't do anything for two days". The past two days Sally helped Jennifer and also entertained while her parents went to work and they both forgot they were mean to each other. One day when Sally came to Jennifer's cave she saw her on the ground Sally was shocked so she rang the Sea city hospital and her parents.At the hospital everyone thought that she would be fine after two days but the doctor said that she will have a surgery Jennifer's parents were very scared so they rested and waited. After two hours the doctor came out and told everyone " she is fine but something was in her throat " the doctor held out a pebble nobody knew why the pebble was in her throat but that didn't matter at least she was all fine.When Jennifer came out of the hospital she told Sally " thanks for taking care of me wanna go into the cafeteria tomorrow at school" offered Jennifer " sure " answered Sally and they also became friends, Jennifer helped out in the restaurant too and they forgot they were mean to each but they ended up being besties.
